Utility back Patrick Ah Van has been granted a release from the last year of his NRL contract with the Warriors to take up a one-year deal with the Bradford Bulls in the English Super League.
Ah Van (22) was off contract at the end of the 2011 season but Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah said the club had agreed to his request for an early release.
"Patrick has been part of our NRL squad for several years now but hasn't been able to break into the top side on a regular basis this year," he said.
"He had an opportunity to take up a contract with Bradford in the Super League and asked for a release.
"We appreciate the contribution he's made to the club both in the NRL and NYC and wish him all the best."
Since making his NRL debut against Manly in 2006, Ah Van (22) has made 54 appearances for the club but has played just one game this year.
A former Junior Kiwi, Ah Van also played for the Junior Warriors in the NYC's inaugural season in 2008.
Warriors head coach Ivan Cleary said Ah Van had been a valuable member of the NRL squad.
"It has been tough for him this year with other players in front of him but whenever we've called on Paddy over the last few seasons he has always been ready for challenge," he said.
"We really hope things work out well for him in England."
Used on the wing, in the centres and at fullback during his NRL career, Ah Van has scored 16 tries and kicked five goals for a total of 74 points.
