The Sydney Roosters have reportedly sent an emphatic message to Willie Mason - we want you gone.

Sydney's Daily Telegraph reported on Monday that the NRL club has given the former Test forward another two weeks leave to find another club.

Mason has a year to go on his Roosters contract, but has been in Japan trying to negotiate a deal with several Japanese rugby union sides.

The Roosters have now told him they don't want him back until November 23.

"We have extended his leave by two weeks," Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce said.

"As has been well-documented, Willie has been in Japan negotiating with clubs. The club has decided to allow Willie and his manager to continue those negotiations.

"There are always follow-up talks required in these situations, so we have provided Willie with another fortnight off to follow up those discussions."

It's a clear message that the Roosters are fed up with Mason and want his bags packed as soon as possible.
