The Queensland Origin team is under investigation over claims they used a home made party drug to help them through a big night out just two days before Origin three in Brisbane.

There are reports players mixed Red Bull with Stilnox in an effort to hide the effects of the booze.

Queensland Rugby League Managing Director Ross Livermore says he is yet to talk to players.

He says he wants to speak to the coach and manager to see if there were any shortcomings in their camp.

Stilnox - which was found in the apartment of actor Heath Ledger after he died from a prescription drug overdose in January last year - has a similar effect to cocaine when mixed with energy drinks or alcohol.
