New Zealand centre Steve Matai looks set to miss Sunday morning's rugby league Test against England.

He has bleeding in his left eye and needs to rest for about five days.

Matai was poked in the eye accidentally, attempting a tackle in the 30th minute in the Kiwis' win over France.

Krisnan Inu looms as his replacement.
