Parramatta superstar Jarryd Hayne has been left off a list of nominees for the Golden Boot award just a day after he was crowned the player of the year.

Hayne on Monday night beat out Australian team-mates Greg Inglis and Billy Slater for the Rugby League International Federation player of the year award, yet his name was nowhere to be seen in the list of Golden Boot contenders.

Inglis and Slater were joined by Melbourne team-mate Cameron Smith in the six-man shortlist, with English pair Gareth Ellis and Kevin Sinfield and New Zealand prop Fuifui Moimoi rounding out the nominees.

The Golden Boot is the long-running international player of the year award presented by Rugby League World magazine, and was first presented in 1985.

On top of Hayne's RLIF award, the Eels custodian was also named Dally M player of the year after producing a series of stunning displays to propel the Eels to an NRL grand final berth.

Reigning Golden Boot winner Slater and Smith (2007) are the only former winners in the running for the award, which was first one by former Australian captain Wally Lewis.

Five of the six nominees will take part in Saturday's Four Nations final, when Australia take on England at Elland Road, with voting to take part after the final.
