Eels forward Nathan Hindmarsh
A shrewd Parramatta fan is looking at a $A100,000 pay day if
busy forward Nathan Hindmarsh inspires the Eels to the club's first
premiership since 1986.
A Parramatta victory over hot favourites Melbourne on Sunday would
net the punter $A65,000.
But another $A50,000 would jump into his pocket should Hindmarsh
win the Clive Churchill medal awarded to the best player on the
field.
"The punter stands to have an absolute fill up if Parramatta win
the grand final and Hindmarsh takes the Clive Churchill medal,"
Sportingbet Australia's chief executive Michael Sullivan
said.
"He put $A2500 on Hindmarsh and has got great odds as Hindmarsh
will certainly be in contention if Parramatta win."
The punter showed great faith placing his bets well before
Parramatta qualified for the grand final with their 10th win in 11
games.
He took $A13 about the Eels winning and $A21 about Hindmarsh being
named Churchill medal winner for which he is now a popular $A9
chance.
While flashy customers Billy Slater, Greg Inglis and slippery Eel
Jarryd Hayne are more favoured to be named the best player on the
day, Hindmarsh's massive workload and his magnificent defence
rarely goes unnoticed.
Melbourne have been backed as if unbeatable during the past 24
hours but Parramatta, whose odds got out to $A101, are still a
blackout for bookmakers across the country facing a $A12 million
payout if they win.
Bets this week have been close to 10-1 for Melbourne but most big
betting outlets still report Parramatta are a horror result.
Melbourne are into as short as $A1.62 with some bookmakers while
Parramatta have eased slightly with as much as $A2.35 on offer.
