Conditions are more favourable than expected for the Warriors as they kick off their NRL season on the Gold Coast on Sunday afternoon.

After arguments over the effect of an early kick off time and having to wear a dark coloured jersey in the heat, it's cool and breezy ahead of the match against the Titans.

However humidity is still expected to be high come kick off time, and Warriors coach Ivan Cleary says they will just have to try and manage the players as best they can.

He says it will be hot for both sides but it will certainly pose a challenge.

Cleary is looking to the return of a key player to help his side overcome a difficult first-up proposition against the Titans.

After missing most of last season with a knee injury, Cleary is relieved to have centre Brent Tate back to help his young side through.

He says Tate is itching to get back on the field and contribute.

Kick off is at 4pm (NZT) with the Warriors to launch their new look halves combination of Brett Seymour and James Maloney.

Prop Jesse Royal has been brought into the starting line-up with Russell Packer going to the interchange bench.

The rest of the starting line-up is as named on Tuesday while standoff/centre Joel Moon is on the bench for fullback Wade McKinnon, who didn't travel to Australia after being ruled out on Thursday night with an infection that had prevented him training.
