New Zealand Post has been left red faced after printing the wrong birthdate for Prince William in its Royal Wedding stamp pack.
The booklet says Prince William was born on the May 21 1982 - his birthday is actually June 21.
New Zealand Post says the blunder is the fault of the company it contracted to write the text.
Communications Manager John Tulloch said the error was solely with the supporting text in the presentation pack, not on the prized stamps.
"There is nothing wrong with the stamps, the first day covers and miniature sheets," he said.
The remaining stock of the presentation packs will be removed from stores and online sales and replacement packs are being printed.
The correct version should be available for sale in stores and online in a week.
Tulloch said the text was drafted by an external writer and checked internally.
"But unfortunately this error was not picked up. We're of course reviewing our processes," he said.
He said the stamps themselves, which were approved by the Queen and Prince William are perfect.
"The integrity is not compromised by the error in the supporting text in the presentation pack," he added.
Customers who have already purchased a presentation pack and want it replaced, can ring 0800 stamps (0800 782 677) to arrange the replacement.
