About the show
From executive producer Randy Jackson (American Idol) and the
creators of the World Hip Hop Championship comes one of the most
visual and captivating performance competition shows ever to hit
Shot on location in Los Angeles, Randy Jackson Presents Americas Best Dance Crew is a weekly television event and the first dance competition series for dance crews rather than individual performers.
Hosted by Mario Lopez, the top hip hop teams from around the
country will battle it out on the stage floor for dance supremacy,
a cash prize and an international touring contract.
Every week, each crew of five to seven members will rehearse and demonstrate their most innovative choreography and dance skills as their intimate life stories and personal drama unfold within the show.
With so many people competing for the title, it may be hard to stay on point. There could be showdowns - maybe even an impromptu dance-off.
Every performance-themed episode will tap into the crews' emotion, spirit and inspiration. They'll recreate dance moves seen in the hottest music videos, use dance to tell the story of a favorite feature film and pay homage to the classic grooves - and moves - of the past.
A panel of judges, including choreographer Shane Sparks (So You
Think You Can Dance) and JC Chasez (*NSync), will critique the
performances, while American viewers will determine the winning
crew via text messaging, phone and online voting.
The two weakest teams as determined by voting will battle, showing their best moves for the judges for the chance to advance to the next round.
One crew will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing the nation's best dance crew.
