Te Radar Experience
The Riverhead Scouts give them comments on their time and experience while they were involved with Radar's Patch.
"I met Radar through school and found this a great opportunity
to get our Riverhead Scouts involved in a unique experience
especially with SCOUT Job Week coming up later this year. I
really enjoyed this great chance to get our Scouts out there to be
seen by New Zealand and I must say I was very proud of our troop in
the way they worked and presented themselves and how well it came
across on TV, also the kids loved seeing themselves on TV which
made it even cooler."
Shawn Dyer (Scout Leader).
"Being on one of the most watched television programmes in New
Zealand is quite a privilege for the Riverhead Scout Group.
While we were doing worthwhile community work we were able to give
scouting good nationwide exposure. The Scouts enjoyed it very
much and will remember this experience for quite along time."
Barbara Lloyd (Group Leader)
"Personally, I felt it was a privilege and an honour to work with
Te Radar doing things we love as Scouts, with our peers."
Charlotte Folan (Scout)
"It was a great experience and it built confidence in me. I
felt important with knowing that a lot of people were watching
it"
Emma Lloyd (Patrol Leader)
"I was very excited in being part of something so
interesting. It was a great opportunity that I will always
remember."
Ciarrai Lloyd (Senior Patrol Leader)
"It was great to help out Radar to clean up his property and at the
same time to be on TV and I will remember this experience for
life. I enjoyed watering the gardens and feeding his chickens
every day. I learned a lot from him while having fun"
Henry Dyer (Patrol Leader)
