I Will Survive!
Ten queers, Three weeks, No coffee. Can they survive the harsh natural environment? Can they survive the dangerous wildlife? And more importantly - can they survive each other?
Lesbians and gay men are taken to a deserted tropical island to test their survival skills in a spoof reality series, "I Will Survive", to air over three weeks on Queer Nation.
Their mission is to Come Out, Be Out, and Stay Out. The castaways will be challenged physically and mentally. They must prove to their team mates that they are strong - but not too strong. At the end of each week they must come together in an Enough is Enough Council to eliminate a team member, sending them back into the closet - until only one remains.
This is Queer Nation as you've never seen it before...
"We wanted to round off Queer Nation's year with something fun", says Robyn Paterson, Co-Director. "After a year filled with Destiny marches and Civil Union tension the queer community could do with a good laugh. This is unashamedly camp, outrageous, and a twist on the current reality TV focus."
Producer, and Co-Director Andrew Whiteside who ends his nine-year association with the show at the end of the season, says "I Will Survive" caps off a very successful year for Queer Nation.
"I think this has been our best year ever in terms of content, and it is fantastic to finish the year off with something we haven't attempted before, that we can all be proud of."
From sequin-adorned camp sites to kayak races and surprise arrivals, you'll engage with each castaway as they form life-long friends, enemies, and alliances in the battle to win hundreds and thousands.
Only one will escape the closet. Only one will survive...
