Andrew Whiteside
Producer and Senior Reporter/Director
This multi-award winning journalist and television producer reprises his role as Senior Reporter and Producer for the 2004 season of Queer Nation. This will be Andrews ninth and final season with the programme.
Over the years he has told a diverse range of stories and spoken to the movers and shakers of New Zealands queer communities. There isnt a story topic he hasnt covered: from AIDS and HIV; arts and entertainment; politics and discrimination; health and recreation.
He has interviewed Prime Ministers and Rock Stars. Andrew is no stranger to the written and spoken word. For three years he co wrote and produced a gay radio programme on access radio, has directed television commercials, written poetry and is currently writing a couple of books.
Andrew has been rewarded for his efforts in broadcasting, twice winning AIDS Media Awards, and in 2003 winning the award for Best Factual Series at the AFTA New Zealand Television Awards.
