The Progressive Party is preparing for life after Jim Anderton.
The party's founding leader has told members they are free to join Labour, and stand for it if they want to.
But Deputy leader Matt Robson says Anderton has not yet indicated whether he will contest his seat at the next election.
He says Mr Anderton is younger than the Pope and Fidel Castro, so the Party is taking things one step at a time.
