The Royal Commission of Inquiry report on the Pike River Coal
Mine tragedy has been received by the Government this
The Inquiry began its hearing into the 2010 explosions on the West Coat in July last year and finished this April.
Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson said ministers would now consider the report and its recommendations.
The report will first be released to the families of the 29
workers killed in the explosion in November 2010, and then to the
public early next week along with the Government's response.
Chair of the Royal Commission Hon Justice Pankhurst presented the report to Finlayson in Wellington this afternoon.
