The Maori Party is holding its Annual General Meeting in Auckland this weekend, at Te Mahurehure Marae.

There is speculation the party's current president is planning to step aside during the summit.

Whatarangi Winiata is two years through his three year term, and has led the party wing of the Maori Party since it was formed in 2004.

The AGM is the party's first since it agreed to support National in government.

Guyon Espiner will be talking to Maori Party co-leader Tariana Turia on Q+A this Sunday about her party's conference this weekend, the Rugby World Cup free-to-air television broadcast bid, the party's progress in its first year in government and the state of its relationship with National. Q+A screens at 9.00am on TV ONE.
