Labour demands broadband timetable

Labour is demanding some certainty from the government over its plans for broadband policy.

It follows the government's axing of the Broadband Investment Fund and indications it may be a year before new initiatives are up and running.

Labour Party IT spokeswoman Clare Curran says that's not good enough and the sector will suffer damage as a result.

She says the government must release its plans for broadband and the timeframe for their implementation.
