John Key says he has washed his hands of Richard Worth - the strongest hint yet that he wants the sacked minister to resign from parliament.
The Prime Minister's comments come as more mud is flung in the saga, with fresh revelations about the Labour Party woman accusing Worth of sexual harassment.
Neelam Choudary claims the National MP pestered her with sexually explicit phone calls and text messages but there are questions about her credibility because she is an active and prominent Labour Party member.
Labour leader Phil Goff says Choudary has to be judged on how credible her story is and what there is to back it up.
"She has given all that evidence, all of that material to John Key," says Goff who acknowledges he knew of an immigration case involving Choudary's husband.
"I have not looked at that closely, it is not material to the evidence that she has that Dr Worth was misusing his position."
Worth is due back in parliament and Key wants him to speak up.
"He should front up and quite frankly if he comes back to parliament he is going to have to do that," says Key.
"He can choose his own course of action...he'll be back on Tuesday is my guess and he can present himself to the New Zealand public."
And the Prime Minister has signalled his favoured course of action.
"All I know is that I've washed my hands of him."
