The government is expected to come under fire from the opposition at Parliament on Tuesday over the behaviour of two ministers.

Trade Minister Tim Groser is under scrutiny for the time it took him to resign from several boards after he was appointed a minister in November.

While Internal Affairs Minister Richard Worth has been forced to apologise and resign from boards after receiving a ticking off from the Prime Minister for a trip to India last month.

Key has said wants his ministers to be more open about any future trips.

However, Labour MPs have indicated they will be giving Key a torrid time over the controversy.

On Monday, Labour's deputy leader Annette King says it is not a good look.

"It's not a transparent look, it's not the look of a government that is being open with the public," she says.

Labour researched Key last year trying to find some sort of conflict of interest it could use during the election campaign, but came up with nothing.

Now it thinks it can nail Worth and Mr Groser.

Of the two, Groser is the more attractive target because he is a cabinet minister ranked 12th in the lineup.

Worth is a minister outside cabinet with a ranking of 22.
