There are calls for the government to keep a promise to let people have a say on how ACC should be run.

Prime Minister John Key has confirmed competition on the ACC work account will be looked into, as part of the deal to secure Act's support for reform.

But ACC Futures Coalition spokeswoman Hazel Armstrong says the process is not transparent.

She says the government has broken a promise to have an open and consultative approach to privatisation, which she fears is a fait accompli.

Armstrong says her concern about privatisation is people could end up paying more, but getting less in the way of entitlements.
