Tauranga MP Simon Bridges has been announced as National's newest minister, while Napier MP Chris Tremain has moved into the Cabinet.
The change follows Nick Smith's resignation from the Cabinet last month after he admitted writing letters of support for ACC claimant Bronwyn Pullar.
Bridges, who will be a minister outside of Cabinet, picks up Tremain's Consumer Affairs and Associate Minister of Transport portfolios, while Tremain takes over as Internal Affairs Minister from Amy Adams who becomes Environment Minister.
Bridges will be sworn in at 11am tomorrow by the Governor-General.
Prime Minister John Key said: "I look forward to welcoming Mr Bridges to the Executive. He has proven himself an able member of the National Party Caucus."
Other portfolio changes as a result of Smith's resignation:
- List MP David Carter will assume the role of Local Government Minister in addition to his current portfolio of Primary Industries.
- List MP Tim Groser will also become the new Minister for Climate Change Issues.
- Selwyn MP Amy Adams takes over as Environment Minister.
