MPs will be working well into the night again this week.

The Prime Minister says parliament will sit under urgency from Tuesday as it attempts to pass bills introduced during National's 100-day action plan.

John Key says a bill cracking down on boyracers is high on the agenda.

The government in May signalled a new law to allow vehicles to be seized and destroyed as a penalty for illegal street racing.

The bill would also allow vehicles repeatedly used by people with overdue traffic fines to be seized and sold to pay those fines.

Another bill would allow local authorities to create bylaws that prevent vehicles repeatedly "cruising" city streets and allow the compulsory impoundment of vehicles involved in illegal street racing.

It would also introduce demerit points for noise offences, licence breaches and registration plate offences.

This would ensure repeat offenders will lose their licenses, rather than just accrue fines.
