A boot camp for criminals will be kick-started by Prime Minister John Key on Monday as part of new legislation.
The legislation includes the Fresh Start programme, a year-long
course that includes three months in an army-style boot camp.
It will also extend the Youth Court's jurisdiction so they can deal
with 12 and 13-year-olds accused of serious offences.
The policy is a favourite of the Prime Minister who raised it in
his State of the Nation speech a year ago.
The bill will get its first reading later this week as part of
National's 100-day plan.
