TV ONE - Returning
Returning to TV ONE in 2010
BORDER PATROL
The top-rating series Border Patrol returns for the new season, following the exploits of Customs, MAF, and the New Zealand Immigration Service.
Every week, thousands of people arrive in New Zealand. Most are visitors, many are genuine immigrants, some are refugees - but others intend to live and work illegally.
Life for the men and women who battle to protect our borders is often confrontational, sometimes amusing, sometimes downright dangerous, but always exciting.
THE INSPECTORS
Back for its fourth series, The Inspectors follows the council's specialist squads: New Zealand's toughest Inspectors on the front line of filth, pollution and illegal operation - they are the unsung heroes from councils across the country, working tirelessly to preserve public health.
It's their mission to keep us safe as they strive to protect us and our environment; controlling those who inflict damage upon it, and preventing the spread of lethal contaminants, deadly disease, dangerous pests and unlawful activity.
In this new and improved compelling 10 episode 1/2 hour series, we follow inspectors from various departments as they go about their day to day business - each investigation with its own challenges, conflicts, surprises, and all in a bid to make our world a safer place.
COLD CASE
The executive producers of the hit shows
Without A
Trace and
CSI: Crime
Scene Investigation
, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman,
along with
Meredith Stiehm (
ER and
NYPD Blue ), explore an
equally absorbing facet of law enforcement in the returning drama
series Cold Case.
Headstrong and resourceful, detective Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris Resurrecting The Champ ) returns this season to work on 'cold cases' for the Philadelphia Police Department, reopening dormant, unsolved homicides that occurred years or even decades ago. She makes use of today's science and finds fresh clues to crimes once thought to be unsolvable.
PACKED TO THE
RAFTERS
New Zealand-born Rebecca Gibney and Kiwi actor Erik Thomson are back to head the cast of TV ONE's returning series Packed To The Rafters.
Julie and Dave Rafter still can't get time to themselves. With two of their offspring residing at home, the third next door and a growing number of spouses inhabiting their surrounds, it would seem that their little bungalow has reached its capacity. But the beginning of the second series spells trouble for the Rafters - not only has Julie fallen pregnant with her fourth child, but the new sandwich-lady at Barrett's Electrical, with some sort of psychic ability, makes a series of troubling predictions for the family.
BEYOND THE
DARKLANDS
Beyond the Darklands returns to TV ONE for its third series, as renowned psychologist Nigel Latta (who also fronts TV ONE's Politically Incorrect Parenting Show ) gives an insightful, professional analysis of the lives of some of New Zealand's most notorious criminals.
This year's series features Antonie Dixon, who famously arrived in court with a bizarre haircut and crazy eyes, Mark Lundy who murdered his wife and child with an axe; and the cult-like figure of Bert Potter, who used the Centrepoint Commune as a way of sexually offending against minors for over a decade.
Latta goes behind the headlines in Beyond The Darklands and examines the childhood, teenage and adult development of serious offenders to help explain the reasons for their actions. The team interview friends, family and lovers to get the real story behind the crime.
CRIMINAL MINDS
Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again.
The Behavioral Analysis Unit's most experienced agent is David Rossi (Joe Mantegna Childless), a founding member of the BAU who returns to help the team solve new cases. The team is lead by Special Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson Dharma & Greg), a strong profiler who is able to gain people's trust and unlock their secrets.
Other members include Emily Prentiss (Padget Brewster The Big Bad Swim), the daughter of high-powered diplomats who used to work with Hotchner; and Special Agent Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore The Young And The Restless), an expert on obsessional crimes. Each member brings his or her own area of expertise to the table as they pinpoint predators' motivations and identify their emotional triggers in the attempt to stop them.
RAMSY'S KITCHEN
NIGHTMARES
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is a unique combination of practical insight and compelling entertainment. It offers a fascinating look at the ins and outs of the restaurant business, revealing the secrets of success for running a profitable restaurant.
Each week in Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares , a struggling restaurant receives the Gordon Ramsay treatment. With only a couple of weeks to turn around its flagging fortunes, nothing is sacred. There's no time for polite small talk as Ramsay reveals a few home truths to the exhausted, emotional restaurant owner or manager and embarks upon his mission to turn things around.
Exciting, moving, surprising and inspiring, this series reveals even the most disastrous situation can be turned around with a bit of imagination and a lot of hard work.
THE ZOO
This year, the multi-award-winning series The Zoo once again takes viewers behind the scenes at Auckland Zoo, to bring them more fantastic stories about the animals and the people that look after them.
