About Park Rangers

Starting Tuesday November 15 at 5.30pm

About the show

Park Rangers follows men and women from the Department of Conservation and Ministry of Fisheries as they go about their daily work.

It features their successes, their struggles, their vision and their sometimes grim realities.

The rangers tell their stories in their own words to connect the audience - in a close up and personal way - with important environmental and conservation issues.

This series is uniquely New Zealand - it literally couldn't happen anywhere else.

The geographical spread of the series is wide - from Kerikeri to Stewart Island and from the Motu River to Aoraki/Mt Cook.

The story mix is also broad - from the endangered Southern Hectors Dolphins of Akaroa to kiwi and kokako conservation on the East Coast, from lost tourists in Able Tasman National Park to trout fishing on Lake Taupo.

Central to the series are the personalities, expertise and passion of DOC and MoF officers charged with protecting and promoting New Zealand's truly great outdoors.

Their stories are engaging, instructive and inspirational viewing for all New Zealanders keen on gaining a greater understanding and appreciation of this country's unique landscape and wildlife.
