The OB

At TVNZ Outside Broadcast we're proud to have played a part in broadcasting many of New Zealand and the World's premier sporting and other important events. We've a well-earnt reputation for total flexibility, commitment, technical excellence and creative outside broadcast solutions. We offer a wide range of trucks from 16 camera-capable semi-trailers to three camera capable OB facilities. We also have a 'Fly Away' capability which allows us to service our clients throughout the Pacific Rim and is available for jobs within New Zealand. Working for TVNZ we're well versed in producing quality OBs for live TX. Our team of technical operators are among the best in the business offering the highest levels of operating competence and our logistics and planning mean our solutions are always cost effective. In recent years our credits include the Beijing 2008 Olympics, ASB Classic Tennis, The Louis Vuitton Trophy, IRB Rugby Sevens, Waitangi Day Celebrations, Anzac Day Memorials and The Halberg Sports Awards.

The Crew And The Trucks

We supply crews and high quality field equipment to a wide range of OBs within New Zealand and overseas.   Our excellent DOPs work with a highly trained and well-established team of cameramen and we can offer operators for gyroscopic cameras, jimmy jib operators and grips as well as sound crew. Our field kit includes jimmy jib cranes, remote controlled cameras, mini camera rigs and pencil cameras. What's more we're fully backed up by TVNZ's experience, training and infrastructure so no matter what event you are covering you can be confident that we have the most robust and cost effective OB solution for you.

We'll tailor our equipment and vehicles to meet the needs of your production. Our OB trucks are purpose built for New Zealand's often difficult conditions to high international quality standards. We'll customise our trucks and any Fly-Away kit you need to suit your requirements so you only pay for what you need. The range of equipment on our trucks includes Grass Valley LDK500 triax cameras, wireless camera systems, Sony MVS 8000 vision switcher, Grass Valley Indigo vision switcher, Euphonix Maxair audio console and EVS disk recorders
