Linebacker Larry Foote will return to the Pittsburgh Steelers after spending a season with his hometown Detroit Lions, the Steelers said on Tuesday.
Foote, a nine-year veteran who started at inside linebacker in the Steelers' two most recent Super Bowl victories (after the 2005 and 2008 seasons) after originally being drafted by the team in the fourth round in 2002, signed a three-year contract with Pittsburgh.
After starting every game with the Steelers from 2004-08, Foote signed a one-year deal with Detroit last May and went on to lead the Lions with 99 tackles (70 solo) and recorded two sacks and one forced fumble.
