The Indianapolis Colts led the New Orleans Saints 10-6 at
halftime in the Super Bowl on Monday (NZT).
The Saints missed out on a great chance to bring the game level
towards the end of the second quarter when they failed to convert
on a fourth and one, Pierre Thomas' run stopped by Gary
Brackett.
Having got on the scoreboard through a 38-yard field goal from Matt
Stover, who at 42 years old became the oldest man to play in a
Super Bowl, the Colts extended their first quarter advantage with a
touchdown from Pierre Garcon.
An 11-play, 96-yard drive ended with a pinpoint pass from Manning
into the arms of the sprinting Garcon.
Two field goals from the Saints Garrett Hartley in the second
quarter narrowed the gap though and left plenty to play for in the
second half.
