The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed Antwaan Randle El, the wide receiver who was a key part of the team's Super Bowl championship win in 2006.
Randle El, who played for Pittsburgh from 2002 to 2006, was cut by the Washington Redskins last week after four seasons.
A spokeswoman for the Steelers did not disclose financial terms or length of the deal but said the team will make an official announcement later on Wednesday.
Randle El, who was a quarterback in college, became the first wide receiver to throw a touchdown pass in the National Football League's championship game when he completed a 43-yard pass on a trick play that helped seal Pittsburgh's 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
