Cambridge trainer Shaune Ritchie completed a classic three-year-old Group 1 double when Keep The Peace won the $300,000 Wellfield New Zealand Oaks at Trentham on Saturday.

Ritchie had also won this month's Group 1 New Zealand Derby with Military Move.

He went into the Oaks with plenty of confidence as he knew that Keep The Peace was back to her best form.

"She has not been 100 per cent for a while and was only 70 per cent fit when she finished second in the Lowland Stakes but had improved in leaps and bounds since that race," Ritchie said.

The Oaks was also a notable result for Cambridge Stud-based stallions who provided the first three placegetters.

The winner, Keep The Peace, is a son of Keeper and represented his fourth individual Group 1 winner.

Keeper's other Group 1 winners have been Insouciant, Keepa Cruisin and Linky Dink.

He has been represented by 150 individual winners including 14 individual stakes winners.

Keeper is a Group 1 winning son of Danehill and has stood at Cambridge Stud throughout his stud career which began in 2002.

The Oaks second placegetter, November Rain, is a daughter of Stravinsky and third placed Zarzuela is by Zabeel.
