Shane Cameron (L) and David Tua on Close Up -
Watch Video
Boxing-loving Kiwis got an early taste of what is to come when NZ heavyweight's biggest names got up close and personal on TV ONE on Wednesday.
It all got a bit heated in the Close Up studio as former IBO world heavyweight championship boxer David Tua faced-off with Shane Cameron -currently New Zealand's number one heavyweight boxer.
When asked about how he was feeling about the fight - now due to take place at Hamilton's Mystery Creek on October 3rd - Tua, in reference to the fact the fight was delayed due to Cameron's broken hand, replied that he was "ready to fight a week ago."
Tua was also asked if he 'liked' Shane Cameron, and after ignoring the question from presenter Mark Sainsbury, the 36-year-old said the fight was just 'business' and refused to get into anything heated on air.
Separate arrangements were made for both camps at the studio and Sainsbury sat between the two for the entire interview.
And while Tua revealed he respected Cameron as a boxer, he also believed that it would be Shane's last fight - ending the interview with the chilling words:
"I'm really going to hurt you"
