Fiji has been banned from the the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Federation President Mike Fennell has told media in India that Fiji can no longer take part as it has been suspended from the Commonwealth.

However that may change.

Fennell says he will be leading a delegation to the Commonwealth Secretary General asking that sport be removed as part of the sanctions imposed on any nation suspended from the Commonwealth.

Fennell says, if that proposal is accepted, Fiji will be able to participate in 2010.

Fiji has been suspended from the Commonwealth over its failure to meet the deadline to hold democratic elections no later than October next year.
