The Tour of Southland has a new leader after Heath Blackgrove regained the yellow jersey on Friday.

Blackgrove took the overall lead after finishing fourth on the 163 kilometre seventh stage to Te Anau.

Previous leader Jack Bauer has finished two minutes behind the leaders and stage winner Patrick Bevin.
