The Black Sticks have scored their first win of 2012 by beating China 3-2 in extra time at the Champions Trophy tournament in Argentina today.

The New Zealand women's hockey team will playoff for fifth and sixth thanks to a golden goal from Stacey Michelson in the first period of extra time.

New Zealand had trailed two-nil early in the second-half before Cathryn Finlayson scored two goals in the last ten minutes to force extra time.

They'll face Japan in the fifth/sixth playoff after Japan beat Korea 4-3 also in extra time.
