Black Sox continue winning ways

The Black Sox have continued on their winning way at the Pacific Series in Apia Samoa, beating Japan 3-1 on Friday.

Nathan Nukunuku opened the run scoring account for the Black Sox in the first inning, then in the fourth a home run from Brad Rona doubled the scoring account for the softball world champions, Michael Cameron added a third run in the sixth.

Japan's sole run was scored in the seventh inning.

"That was definitely a good performance for us," Black Sox support services coordinator Jayden Moore said

"Japan are always a tough side to beat."

Japan are also in the same section as the Black Sox for the world championships which will be held in Saskatoon, Canada in July.

At that tournament theBlack Sox are hoping to win a fourth consecutive world crown.

The side plays hosts Samoa, who they beat 5-3 in Thursday's opening game of the tournament later on Friday.
