New Zealand baseballer Travis Wilson is prepared to take a step backwards in a bid to reignite his playing career.
Wilson who's been with the Atlanta Braves for the past seven years trying to break into the U.S. major league has signed a one year deal with the Cincinatti Reds, the club Ken Griffey Jr plays for.
Wilson was cut by the Braves last year and says at this stage he'll be playing for the club's third tier side but a good pre season effort could see him step up to the Triple A side.
He had been playing Triple A for the Braves prior to being dropped, so starting out in Double A is a step backwards.
