New Zealand's Star class sailors Hamish Pepper and Jim Turner produced a second placed finish in the medal race to finish the regatta in fifth place.
Sitting in eighth place heading into the race and out of medal contention, the New Zealanders led for parts of the race before finishing second to improve their placing by three spots.
Sweden's Fredrik Loof and Max Salminen, the world No.1 pairing, took the gold medal after winning today's medal race in Weymouth Bay.
Great Britain's Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson, who led for most of the regatta, finished with the silver medal after finishing the race seventh.
