The NZ women's canoe sprint pair of Lisa Carrington and Erin Taylor are into the final of the K2 500m event at the London Olympics.

The Kiwi duo were fourth in their semifinal to book their place in the eight for Thursday's final.

They posted the sixth-fastest time of 1m 42.764s on the Eton Dorney course, 1.211s behind pacesetters Franziska Weber and Tina Dietze of Germany.

Teneale Hatton missed the final of the K1 500m after finishing fifth in her semifinal, with only the first four advancing.
