New Zealand lightweight Alexis Pritchard has been eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the inaugural Olympic women's boxing tournament.

Pritchard, 29, was outclassed by world No.2 Sofya Ochigava of Russia in London on Monday to lose 22-4.

Victory puts Ochigava into the last four and guarantees her a medal.

On Sunday, Pritchard became the first New Zealand woman to win an Olympic boxing bout when she beat Tunisian Rim Jouini 15-10 in the opening round.
