Profile:

Veronica Torr is currently ranked # 2 in New Zealand for 100 metre hurdles, and represented New Zealand at the World Junior Championships in Beijing in 2006.

The 22-year-old athlete from Auckland's North Shore is currently training for a heptathlon event, which includes hurdles, long jump, high jump, 200 m sprint, shotput, javelin and 800m run.

When she's not on the track, this chemistry graduate from Auckland University works as a waitress and a bartender. Now she is swapping her spikes for flippers to attempt the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100m hurdles wearing swim fins.
