Profile:
Skye is circus theatre and street performer who can literally bend over backwards for any crowd! An expert contortionist she can fit herself into a box, and bend herself almost inside out. She is also a skilled aerial acrobatic and hoola hoop performer.
Skye lives in Christchurch with her partner and performs regularly in both circus and solo performances. Her career highlights were performing last year at the Glastonbury and Edinburgh Festivals in the UK, and also in Finland and Iceland.
Skye came to performance quite late in life at age 29. Her
father had lived his life as an artist despite his family's
disapproval, and he had always encouraged Skye to follow her
dreams. When he passed away, she decided to leave her university
office job and pursue a theatre career.
She moved to New Zealand from Melbourne and joined the New Zealand
circus school, and found that her natural flexibility suited
training as a contortionist.
Her partner is also a circus theatre and street performer, he does "crazy stuff" like putting rubber bands on his face and performing on a pogo stick.
