Rebecca Wright
Record attempt: Longest Time to Sing Suspended Upside Down
Record previously held by: Tony Di
Modugno, Italy, 2008 (3 mins 25 sec)
Record smashed: Rebecca sung the NZ National Anthem for 3
minutes 52 seconds.
Profile:
Rebecca Wright has had to learn to sing in some difficult
positions this year.
She has just finished the New Zealand production of Andrew Lloyd
Webber's Starlight Express, where as lead female role "Pearl" she
had to learn to sing and dance on rollerskates.
Now Rebecca is turning her world upside down to break a Guinness World Record for the longest time to sing suspended upside down.
If anyone can break this record, it's Rebecca, who as well as being a trained dancer and singer is also a gymnast.
Rebecca first hit our TV screens as a finalist in NZ Idol 2006.
She performs regularly at Christmas in the Park and Symphony Under
the Stars, and recorded the Starlight Express theme song "Only He"
with Will Martin earlier this year.
