Record currently held by: London Rockets Cheerleaders, 2009 at 3.2 metres.

Record smashed: Kate Mann and the All Star Cheerleaders managed a cheerleader basket toss of an incredible 5.1 metres, nearly 2 metres higher than the previous world record. Congratulations!

Profile:

Kate Mann at 12 years old is possibly the youngest New Zealander to try to break a Guinness World Record.

She is the "flyer" in the cheerleading squad, which means she is tossed in the air by the cheerleading team. To beat the Guinness World Record, she will need to fly at least 3.3 metres high from the ground.

Kate is a Ponsonby Intermediate student from Auckland who is passionate about cheerleading. She has trained for three years to be the team "flyer" and competed with her Junior Team in the World Cheerleading Championships in Florida in April 2009, placing fourth. She trains nine hours a week and has recently given up netball to focus on cheerleading.

Kate has performed with her cheerleading squad at the Santa Parade, Christmas in the Park, Studio 2, NZ's Got Talent, Sticky TV and TV3's Telethon.
