Candy Lane and the Candy Lane Dancers

Record attempt: People crammed in a Smart Car

Record previously held by: Vienna Vikings Cheerleaders, Austria, 2008 (15 people)

Record smashed: The extremely flexible Candy Lane dancers managed to fit 16 people into a smart car!

The Candy Lane dancers are New Zealand's most successful dance company, as seen on Dancing with the Stars, The Singing Bee, Stars in Their Eyes and So You Wanna be a Popstar.

Now they're bringing a touch of showbiz glamour to the set of NZ Smashes Guinness World Records, as they attempt to break the record for the most people crammed inside a Smart Car.

Candy Lane is the glamorous co-host from TV ONE's Dancing With The Stars and has represented New Zealand in dancing since she was 15 years old. At 18 she was the youngest ever to win the Australian Professional Championships, which she went on to win five times.

Candy starred in the original Leonard Bernstein production of West Side Story at Her Majesty's Theatre in London, and performed for the Royal Family before returning home to New Zealand.

Her latest TV appearance was on TV2's Shock Treatment where she joined a police training academy in Jamaica with shock jock Iain Stables.

For Candy, a Guinness World Record attempt was a no brainer. "We're a competitive and very flexible group of girls," she says. "And besides, you've got to be in to win!"
