He's only 15 but already William has won the praise of one of the biggest musical legends in the world - Sir Cliff Richard.
Invited to a private meet during his 2010 tour of New Zealand, Sir Cliff told the teen he had a "rare and remarkable" talent and was looking forward to him one day hitting the top of the charts with one of original music compositions.
William began composing at the age of four. At seven he won an Australasian song writing award and by the age of eight had recorded two CDs.
Two original compositions, penned when he was just 10, were both semi-finalist scores in the 2008 UK Song Writing Competitions open section putting him in the top 15% of song writers entering the contest that year... worldwide!
"Hard work, dedication and passion gets results," he says. "I aim to be still performing in 50 years time. I am the one NZGT is looking for!"
This home schooled musical whiz kid not only also plays piano, pipe organ, keyboard, guitar and harmonica, but sings everything from pop, rock 'n' roll and country to jazz, blues and classical.
If he wins NZGT he plans to blow a substantial amount on buying better equipment to do live gigs and to record another CD of original compositions in a top recording studio.
