NZGT Semi final 5: OKK

NZGT Semi Final 5: OKK

OKK stands for Ordinary Kids Krew, and this group of 25 dancers from Turangi ranges in age from 8 to 44.

Most of the group are related, and all are passionate about celebrating their Maori heritage by mixing kapa haka with contemporary dance moves.

OKK are recent Stage Challenge winners, and have a wealth of dance experience between them.

They fund raised tirelessly in their community to fund their trip to Wellington for the NZGT auditions, and the hard work paid off.

OKK’s leader Ngapera Haitana says, “We come from such a little place. For us, NZGT is the opportunity of a lifetime!”
