GS - Irene van Dyk - 8/10 (15/17 shooting)
It was a dominant display from the Ferns sharpshooter. Her arch-nemesis from the first Test, Susan Furhmann, came on in the second quarter but failed to disrupt van Dyk's flow tonight. Was subbed at halftime for Daneka Wipiiti; a move that reeked of victory.
GA - Maria Tutaia - 7/10 (24/32 shooting)
Started poorly, missing her first three shots at goal, but grew in stature as the Test wore on. Still has an issue with her hands and one wonders if the composed Wipiiti could be a better option to partner van Dyk in the shooting circle . She was replaced by Grace Rasmussen for the final six minutes.
WA - Temepara George - 9/10
The ONE Sport commentary team, with a just a little bit of netball pedigree, awarded her player of the match honours and who am I to disagree? Fed the circle with ease and really had a far better understanding with Langman tonight. Liana Barrett-Chase replaced her for the final quarter but the damage had been done.
C - Laura Langman - 7.5/10
It was a solid if unspectacular display from Langman. Proved that centre is her best position by feeding the circle well and running with high energy for the full 60 minutes.
WD - Joline Henry - 8/10
Henry's towering presence provides the front of the defensive line with an intimidating look and the wing-defence debate for Delhi is surely now over. Tonight she played the whole Test with massive intent - with two intercepts -and was a constant menace with her high-pressure game.
GD - Casey Williams - 8.5/10
Five of the best from captain Casey Williams tonight as she once again proved that when it comes to intercept plays - there is no one better! Also hunted Catherine Cox like a true assassin and must have been close to grabbing player of the match honours.
GK - Anna Scarlett - 8/10
The former beach volleyball star looked the business tonight as she combined with Williams and Henry to make the defensive circle an area to fear. Only one clean intercept but her hustle play was invaluable to the cause. Subbed for Leana de Bruin in the final quarter.
Substitutes
GS - Daneka Wipiiti - 8/10 (Shooting 18/25)
Jenny May-Coffin has dubbed her "Swish" and it's not hard to see why. She came on for van Dyk in the second stanza and the Ferns lost nothing in attack. In fact, Wipiiti didn't miss one of her first 10 shots and when she did miss, she more often than not recovered with a rebound.
GK- Leana de Bruin - Fantastic final quarter - with three
intercept plays and one rebound.
WA - Liana Barrett-Chase - Not as slick as in Adelaide, for
her 15 minute fling, but then again, she didn't need to be.
GA - Grace Rasmussen (Shooting 2/3) - A nice six minute
cameo from the rookie.
