Ruth Aitken will head back into the international netball arena next year when she takes over the Singapore side in August.
The long time Silver Ferns coach will first mentor the Mystics in the ANZ Championship, but is giving up a coaching director role with Netball New Zealand.
Aitken says while she's enjoyed helping other coaches develop, she never felt like she was done herself.
"There's something special about actually having your own team, this just now gives us an opportunity to live in a part of the world that is very exciting, and also to help netball develop, so it seems like a win-win for me," she told Radio Sport.
Aitken's contract runs through to the 2015 World Champs, but Singapore has to qualify for the tournament first.
