Meet the team that bring you all the action from the ANZ
Championship each week. The 2010 season kicks off on March
20.
Toni Street
Toni is a ONE News sports reporter and presenter-commentator of the
ANZ Netball championships for ONE Sport.
She says about the ANZ champs:
"Viewers can expect high intensity, even closer matches than last season and an overall improved standard.
"The fact that there are virtually no dull patches in netball
make it such a good TV sport, it's always exciting, always intense.
The fiery clashes between the Kiwi and Aussie teams mean it can
potentially be like a test match every week!"
Julie Coney
Representing New Zealand from 1985 to 1990 as a Wing Defence/Goal
Defence, Julie was a member of the New Zealand Netball team that
won the World Championships in Glasgow in 1987. She retired from
top netball after the 1992 season.
Highlights of her career include captaining the Commonwealth Games demonstration team in Auckland in 1990 and receiving a MBE for services to netball that same year.
Julie's television career started when she captained a team on the show A Question Of Sport in the late '80s and fronted a netball show for TVNZ. Commentating since 1994, Julie has called four World Championships - Birmingham 1995, Christchurch 1999, Jamaica 2003 and Auckland 2007.
She also commentated at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur
in 1998, Manchester in 2002 and Melbourne in 2006.
Kiri Wills
Kiri Wills played for the Magic and Auckland Diamonds in
the National Bank Cup and is a former NZ Secondary School
coach.
Rikki Swannell
Rikki started in radio in 2003 and has since worked
as a journalist, newsreader and editor. During a two and a half
year OE in London, Rikki combined backpacking around Europe with
freelance radio work, which saw her cover everything from Wimbledon
and the hockey world cup, to the odd snooker and darts tournaments.
Random - yes, but who's going to turn down free trips to Japan,
Spain and Germany?
Lured home in 2008, Rikki resumed work at Radio Sport where she is
an on-air regular in a newsreading, reporting and commentary
capacity. Born in Wellington, raised in Tauranga and a bit of
nomad, Rikki would desperately like to see the Hurricanes and
Tottenham finally win something other than best stadium, and will
happily watch any team in black.
Jordan Vandermade
Jordan joined ONE Sport netball commentary team in 2009 as part of
our international coverage.
Competing for New Zealand between 1999 - 2006 in track and field athletics, Jordan's top achievement was placing 3rd in the Decathlon at the World Junior Championships in Beijing China in 2006.
Since 2004 Jordan has been working for TV2 on various entertainment shows and has since decided to pursue this career full time.
Jordan's true passion has always been sport and he is relishing
the opportunity to work with the ONE Sport team. He also
co-presented the ASB Classic and Heineken Open with Toni
Street.
