After playing in the Waikato for over a decade Silver Fern Joline Henry is crediting her shift North for reigniting her passion for netball.
Although the 27-year-old is happy with her decision to switch allegances ahead of the 2010 ANZ Championship season, not everyone was pleased.
After admitting she still cops a 'little bit' of flack in and around the Waikato region for leaving her home team the Magic, she also said she is getting all the support she needs at her new club.
"The girls up here have really made me feel welcome" Henry told ONE Sport on Friday.
"I definitely feel at home. I feel well supported and I'm ready to take to the court and pretty much go to war with them."
"It's certainly a new and exciting experience to have that real enthusiasm and sparkle when you go back to training." Henry added.
She may have to wait a little longer to 'go to war' as a calf strain could see her miss the Mystic's opener against the Adelaide Thunderbids next Saturday night, but that doesn't mean she isn't itching to get back on court.
"It's not ideal going into the ANZ Championships without having played a game, but this is where I want to be. This is what I want to be doing and I'm sure the passion and determination will see me through."
One player who is also rushing about is Jamaican import and former Pulse player Althea Byfield who has managed to land herself in hotwater with three speeding tickets in the past week.
"It has reached a point now where in a certain area on my way to practice I go real slow.
"A lot of drivers are passing me and looking like I'm crazy." The towering goalkeeper said.
