The Fastnet Ferns made light work of South Africa and England this morning as they kicked off their Fastnet World Series defence in Liverpool, England.
New Zealand were too strong for South Africa winning 33-14 in their first match before drowning England 32-12.
After suffering at the hands of the world champion Australian Diamonds recently, the Ferns were out to defend their Fastnet crown.
Netball's answer to Twenty20 cricket sees four quarters of fast-paced action, with quick subs and a 'powerplay' - where goals count for two points.
The South Africans were right in the fight for the first two quarters, only trailing the Ferns 9-7 at the short half time break.
Both teams took their powerplays at the start of the third quarter, but the Ferns made the most of the stipulation and stomped their command on the match, pulling away 27-11.
In their second match the Ferns came out strong against England, going to the first quarter break 7-2 up.
England came storming back in the second quarter, scoring three unanswered goals before Katrina Grant scored NZ's first point nearly two minutes into the quarter.
The third quarter was more of the same, England looking the more dominant as a few sloppy Ferns' passes went stray, gifting England points as they scrapped with NZ at 12-10.
Then all of a sudden NZ took the powerplay and Maria Tutaia drained three two-pointers in quick succession as NZ pulled out to a huge 27-13 lead at the end of the third quarter.
England weren't able to use their powerplay nearly as well as the Ferns, and the fourth quarter allowed NZ to ease home 32-16.
